Michael Jordan is a former professional basketball player who is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time. Jordan retired from basketball in 1993, but later returned to the game and won three more championships with the Bulls. He retired again in 1999 but made a comeback in 2001, playing for the Washington Wizards for two seasons. Jordan's career was marked by numerous accolades, including five NBA MVP awards, ten scoring titles, and fourteen All-Star selections.

 


1963-1981: Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. His family later moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, where he attended Laney High School. He played basketball for the school and was known for his incredible athleticism and scoring ability. In 1981, he received a scholarship to play basketball for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

 


1982-1984: Jordan played college basketball for the University of North Carolina for three years. In his freshman year, he made the game-winning shot in the NCAA championship game against Georgetown, securing the national championship for the Tar Heels. He was named College Player of the Year in both his sophomore and junior years and was selected third overall in the 1984 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls.

 


1984-1991: Jordan quickly established himself as one of the best players in the NBA, earning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 1985. He led the league in scoring in his second season and won his first NBA championship with the Bulls in 1991. 2003-2022: Jordan retired from basketball for the final time in 2003. He went on to become a successful businessman and owner of the Charlotte Hornets NBA team. In 2020, Jordan's documentary series "The Last Dance" was released on ESPN, chronicling the Bulls' final championship season in 1998. The series was widely acclaimed and gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at Jordan's career.
